When my research supervisor at Örebro University’s Global Journalism program told me I could develop my thesis as a blog, with posts and links instead of pages’ footnotes, I was impressed by how progressive Swedish learning institutions can be. Commentary.

I can’t believe I missed that earlier. Noam Chomsky sent me his latest book “Failed States” months ago, but only recently I got the chance to read it, and discover that he has quoted me, and he took the quote from this blog. Thanks Professor Chomsky. Bless blogs!

SR-journalisten Rami Abdelrahman föreläser på FOJO för de inbjudna journalisterna från MENA (Mellanöstern och norra Afrika) om bloggandet i arabvärlden. Han visar ett exempel från 2006: en videosekvens där en folkmassa som rör sig snabbt över ett torg i Kairo, filmad med en amatörkamera. Just den här videosekvensen gav upphov till en debatt bland både arabiska och internationella bloggar om massförföljelser och trakasserier av egyptiska kvinnor.
